We join France’s 20 green nuggets

We’re proud to be one of 20 French green nuggets to join the French Tech Green 20 program.

This program, run by Mission French Tech in partnership with the French Ministry of Ecological Transition, is aimed at startups developing breakthrough innovations in favor of the ecological transition, with the potential to become market leaders within a few years.

GreenTech : the engine of ecological transition at the heart of French Tech

Within the French Tech ecosystem, the ecological transition occupies a central place. Startups are integrating ecological issues into their activities, and some are specializing in this sector, now recognized as GreenTech.

France boasts over 1,800 GreenTech startups, developing innovations in the main sectors that traditionally emit CO2. According to Bpifrance’s GreenTech panorama, 25% of these startups are active in new energies, 23% in green industry, 20% in ecosystem conservation and environmental transition, 13% in agriculture and agrifood, 13% in clean mobility, and 6% in sustainable construction.

These start-ups are boosting the French economy throughout the country, with over 70% located outside the Paris region. They have already created more than 60,000 direct jobs, generate sales of over 3 billion euros, and offer strong growth potential, as half of them are less than 5 years old.

Developing a cutting-edge GreenTech ecosystem in France is essential to keep the country among the world leaders in innovation. For companies, being part of a green transition approach is a major asset for accessing financing (via investors), convincing new customers (large corporations and public authorities), and attracting new talent.

To have a significant ecological impact, France needs world-class GreenTech startups. Currently, they represent 15% of the Next40 and 12% of the French Tech 120. The ambition of the French Tech Green20 program is to support high-potential startups that address key ecological challenges, to help them develop and deploy their innovations on a large scale.
